Chris Chiarotti
Composer, Producer, Conductor, Instrumentalist, and Music Teacher
Biography (short)
Chris Chiarotti is a musician and composer from Long Island, New York. Born in 2003, a musical upbringing in classical piano and violin created the foundation that sits beneath Chris’ influences. Engagement with electronics: fixed media, backing tapes, and synthesizers, has become a driving force in Chris’ creative process, opening the door for collaborations with electric instrumentalists. Late into high school, Chris became well acquainted with progressive rock and jazz fusion through fellow musicians and friends. Gradually, during his undergraduate years at Florida State University, Chris began fusing these influences with aesthetics present in the concert hall, creating a bright, direct sound that strikes at a variety of niches and diverse audiences. Chris is also a dedicated pianist and keyboardist avidly performing his own works, and collaborating with singers and instrumentalists. Chris’ music has been performed by the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra, the Brevard Music Center, the Polymorphia Ensemble, the Times Union Center for the Performing Arts, and the Douglas Anderson Chamber Orchestra, as well as up and coming instrumentalists such as Noah Gruenberg and Miles Swaminathan. Chris holds a Bachelors degree in Music Theory and Composition from Florida State University, and is pursuing his Masters in Composition from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University. Coming from an Italian-American background, Chris is an avid home cook and enjoys chess, videogames, weightlifting, and hiking in his leisure.
Chris is also a private music teacher. For lessons in piano, composition, music theory, violin, or electric bass, see the lessons page located at the top of the site!
